"You are what your deepest nature is...
As your nature, so is your will..
As your will is, so is your deed..
& As your deed is, so is your destiny..."
- The Upanishads
Today, we stand at a pivotal moment, with our
destiny set on a path to a Viksit Bharat 2047 - imagining the country becoming a developed, self-sufficient, and prosperous global leader by the centenary of independence. If we want to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat, we have to first realize and harmonize our individual nature with the national objective.
Process: four steps for bringing about change:
1. You are what your deepest nature is: Your 'deepest nature' is your core Sankalpa or underlying desire—the foundation of your character and aspirations. For someone, this may be a strong commitment to integrity, innovation, or public service. For a country, the collective 'deepest nature' has to be the unshakeable resolve toward development, inclusivity, sustainability, and good governance that are the centrepiece of Viksit Bharat 2047. If our collective consciousness is embedded in the abiding aspiration for a world-class nation that is our real beginning point.
2. As your nature so is your will: The inner desire naturally gets sharpened as a focused will. If we really want a developed India, our will, as citizens, must come in the form of pro-active steps. This is the will to succeed in our respective professions—the farmer's will to take up sustainable high-yield technology; the student's will to seek innovation and frontier research; the entrepreneur's will to produce world-class productsand employment opportunities; and the government official's will to provide transparent and effective service delivery. A strong collective will overrides inertia and indecision.
3. As your will so is your deed: Will is incomplete without deed or karma. This is the level of implementation. Will to create Viksit Bharat becomes tangible, everyday deeds. It means opting for moral behavior in place of corruption, national advancement above trivial differences, and service to one's locality. All small deeds of cleanliness, punctuality, upskilling, consuming responsibly, or participating in civic activities are actions which cumulatively construct the future. The character of our national future is nothing but the sum of all our daily actions.
4. As your deed so is your destiny: Our final, inexorable destination of this process is our destiny. If our innermost collective aspiration is development, if the will of the nation is united, and if individual deeds are done with excellence, then Viksit Bharat is not a hope but a natural consequence. Our fate will be determined by the power of our own, conscious creation.
For bringing about the change for Viksit Bharat 2047, each Indian must ask:
• What is my innermost essence (Sankalpa) for India? Is it only my own convenience, or is it also the well-being of my country?
• What is my intention (Ichha)? Will I move out of my comfort zone, acquire a new skill, or risk something for a greater good?
• What is my deed (Karma)? Am I an active, constructive participant in my economy and society?
The fate of Viksit Bharat depends on the quality of its citizens. It takes a billion flashes of individual excellence to kindle a national fire of advancement. We must absorb the vision, make it our innermost being, Viksit Bharat is a deep process. It is a moment to introspect within ourselves and say: "What is my role in this?" The role is to realize the deep synergy between our nature, will, actions, and destiny. In linking our individual actions with the national vision, we can determine our destiny and make Viksit Bharat a tangible reality.
